Il Jean Monnet Module “EUCare” è stato progettato sulla base di un  particolare angolo prospettico: quella della “cura dell’altro”. A partire da questa impostazione, EUCare mira a fornire agli studenti una visione d’insieme della realtà in continua evoluzione dell’Europa sociale. Il modulo si concentrerà sulle politiche sociali e sui servizi di cura personale per garantire agli studenti una formazione relativa alle opportunità offerte dall’Unione e alle possibili logiche che regolano il cambiamento delle politiche sociali. Una volta acquisite le nozioni teoriche fondamentali, essi saranno coinvolti in attività seminariali e convegnisti al fine di sperimentare un nuovo approccio didattico.

L’idea alla base di questo progetto è quella di favorire una diversa comprensione del ruolo dell’Unione e di analizzare in quale misura i cittadini possano contribuire al processo di creazione di un’Europa sociale che tenga virtuosamente insieme il livello nazionale e quello sovranazionale.

 

PROGRAMME ERASMUS + JEAN MONNET

Erasmus+ is the EU Programme in the fields of education, training, youth and sport for the period 2014-2020. Erasmus+ aims at promoting synergies and cross-fertilisation throughout the different fields of education, training and youth, removing artificial boundaries between the various Actions and project formats, fostering new ideas, attracting new actors from the world of work and civil society and stimulating new forms of cooperation.

JEAN MONNET ACTIVITIES

The Jean Monnet Programme is an initiative to encourage teaching, research and reflection regarding European integration studies in higher education institutions worldwide.

The Jean Monnet Activities support Academic Modules, Chairs, Centres of Excellence in order to deepen teaching in European integration studies embodied in an official curriculum of a higher education institution, as well as to conduct, monitor and supervise research on EU content, also for other educational levels such as teacher training and compulsory education.

JEAN MONNET MODULES

The aim of the modules is to promote research and teaching experience among young researchers, scholars and practitioners in EU issues, foster the publication and dissemination of academic research, create interest in the EU, foster the introduction of an EU angle mainly into non EU related studies and deliver tailor-made courses on specific EU issues relevant for graduates in their professional life.

EUCARE – The Care of the Other in the EU. Politics, principles and opportunities

 

The EUCARE module has been designed to increase the knowledge of the European Union from a unique perspective, that of the “Care of the other”. The objective of the project is to give the local and international students of the University of Naples Federico II an overview of the continuously changing reality of the social Europe, starting from the great theme of “the Care of the Other”.

The module will focus on the social policies and the personal care services to make students acquainted with the opportunities offered by the Union and the possible conceptual frames that regulate the changing of the policies considered.

This module aims to contribute to the development of quality learning, bringing the studies of the European Union to a further dimension (including the social one) into the more traditional settings of the Department and Faculty. Students are expected to become more aware of the social dimension of Europe both at national and supranational level. Once acquired the fundamental theoretical notions, they will be involved in two workshops and the yearly congress, together with the teaching staff to guarantee and foster a new teaching approach that goes behind the traditional role and space of the faculty.

The theoretical background and the subsequent debate will be guided by a group of elevated profile and tailored for students interested in improving their knowledge of the Social aspect of Europe, providing a good starting point for broadening the boundaries of the field of EU studies.  The module will have an important impact both on the students and on the academic offer as it promotes a new awareness of the current situation and the future of the Union.

Scheduled activities

One of the activities of the project is TEACHING which will start with an intensive course about CARE as an innovative perspective for European integration. Then several sessions in seminar-style will be implemented.

The second activity is RESEARCH. PhD students, academic staff and the students involved in the seminars will take part in the research activity on the concept of social Europe. The research activity will originate from the discussions risen in seminars and lessons.

 

The third activity concerns the DISSEMINATION of the project activities. Three workshops will be organised, at the end of each academic year.
