Seminario: “At the edge of Europe. The phenomenon of irregular migration across the Mediterranean”. 13 ottobre – aula Pagano 2

The dramatic rise of irregular migration between che two banks of the
Mediterranean has recently re-acquired strong visibility in the public debate.
The isle of Lampedusa and the Sicilian coasts, but also the Greek ones, have

page of contemporary history, while migrants’ journeys have become more
difficult, because of very stringent controls, more expensive, due to the role
played by networks which provide their ‘grey’ and/or illegal services, and
more dangerous for everything that migrants increasingly risk making the
Mediterranean a sort of ‘liquid cemetery’.
